Why Cant I Read ?

Me : Why do I struggle to read ? I know so many of my friends who can finish reading fat books in just a couple of days ! How will I ever know more ?

Voice : What is there to know ?

Me : About anything ! About spirituality, about God, about the unknown, maybe learn from experiences of other people..

Voice : I have gifted you the special ability to be ' incapacitated ' when you try to read a book.

Me : How do you call this a gift ? How will I grow without divine wisdom  ?

Voice : Books are good. Reading is a good habit. But real experience is matchless. The Truth is beyond any Knowing.

Me : Yes, but everyone has experiences. How does it benefit me more ?

Voice : I work internally with you. To do that I need your mind to be free of clutter, pre-conceived ideas, impressions of peoples experiences, notions of good and bad, anticipations, other peoples ideologies, consequences of particular actions, etc. In other words I prefer you reasonably ignorant with a totally 'untrained' intellect. You have intelligence but instead of more help from books, I want to train your intellect to suit you best because you are an open soul. Maybe, I would even let it fade totally someday. Its the heart where I work from.

I will put you through experiences that would teach you and guide you. This is turn will help others when you share your stories. Why do you need a book for growth ? Keep my company in your heart and I will always reveal to you what you must know.  
With me, its a bigger job to deal with people with more knowledge, cause I then have to spend more time to clean up the mind, have them un-learn and then begin my work.

Me : So this makes sense now - Ignorance is bliss!

Voice : Real knowing is when you know there is nothing to know.

Me : Next time I come across a book with an interesting title, I will just prefer to take a walk in the garden with you. I will know what I need to know.
