Me : I want to know why I failed making it to the summit of the peak ? I trained hard. I scarified. I toiled. I went through pain. I was disciplined. I gave my best to prepare for the climb. I don't think I could have worked any harder for this. I think I deserved success here !
Voiceless Voice : Yes, I think so too.
Me : Then, why did I not make it ?
Voiceless Voice : In my understanding, it was a success. The failure itself was the success.
Me : What the..... ??
Voiceless Voice : Your judgement of success was summiting the peak. My focus lies not in the result, but in the process. Many times, you begin to follow and do what you love ( in this case - climbing ). In the beginning, you climbed for the love of it and the heart brought joy to your soul, irrespective of any goals, agenda, aims, recognition or material reward. This kept you happy and results you achieved were simply by-products of your state of being. This is the journey of the heart - a space of Love.
Then, came the goals, ambition and a result-orineteed approach ( in this case - summitting high peaks ). Gradually, heart made way to the mind. The romance gave way to an agenda. Freedom was clipped with bondage of success. And passion took over from love. The transition was subtle and you wouldn't even know the difference.
I wanted you back. Back to the world of Love. So I sabotaged your summit bid. My connection with you is Love and I want you to use more of your heart. Once you started making plans of bagging high summits, I decided to pull you back or I may have lost you. You would have gone ahead to be a successful climber but I want you to climb higher.
This failure will remind you be detached to results, enjoy the moment, live in love and celebrate small moments of joy with equal joy as summiting.
Me : You could have told me this earlier ! I would saved all those calories and agony of hard training !
Voiceless Voice : I want you to know the difference on your own - climbing after intense training with focused goal and climbing the same peak with a detached approach, just enjoying days in the mountains.
Me : Hmm...I did get lost in the goal and lost sight of the moment. I felt more anxious of failure and forgot to have fun. Thanks for bringing me back !
Voiceless Voice : Find Me in that leaf on the trail, that glorious sunrise, passing butterfly and that smooth boulder on the way or a just a passing cloud...
